The foundation of Dame Rosa date back to 1951, when Ms Asma khatoon started her business of ebrodried women clothing in Lahore Pakistan. She further extended her business by establishing a school for teaching/training embroidery. She passed on her expertise to her daughter Ms Shahida Masood and she became the principal of the school and took charge of the business. She extended her business in other parts of Pakistan and moved to Karachi. Later on in 2017 her daughter in law, wife of her eldest son registered her company in UK for the very first time.
The designer of Dame Rosa is Mr Akmal Shah a.k.a AKI in fashion industry in Pakistan. He is also son in law of Ms Shahida Masood as he married her daughter Saleha Masood in 2012. AKI is working as a fashion designer since 2003. He also has expertise and qualifications in Computer Embroidery Digitizing. While working with several companies he has worked with many brands like Levis, Puma,Evolution, Faded Glory, Joker etc. He has also worked with several local brands and has established some famous garments brands in Pakistan like Tread and Motive,Needle Impressions, Shahid Afridi, Shamraf and Saffron plus many more.
